School is out and summer is upon us! I decided that this summer can be as good or as bad as I want it to be.

At the beginning of the school year, I had to write a letter to the person I would be at the end of the year... here it is:

Dear (my name was here),

It's only the second day of school and you are so overwhelmed already. By now, you've conquered the year, and I pray that you are a different woman. More mature, caring, sensitive and everything you've ever wanted is yours. And, I hope most importantly that you're happy with your life.I don't know what went on this year, but I hope I'm just a memory. I hope you still love to help people and give everyone love. Whatever you do, wherever you go, never forget a moment of your life. Learn from each new experience.
Live. Laugh. Love.

So that was my note to me, and my note to you now. Write yourself a note and put it away, somewhere where you'll forget about it. Then someday you'll find it and look back.

The kids sleeping in this video are sleeping on the ground in the basement of a hospital. It isn't safe for them to be at home. The LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) captures children and has them capture other children to help fight the government. This man, who is leading them, claims he wants the country of Uganda to live by the ten commandments. It hurts me that he associates what he is doing with the Lord.

Do you feel ridiculously insignificant yet?

When I heard these facts it made me crazy. How can I be important to God? But then listen to this:

If someone were to read your DNA strand, reading one letter each second it would take 96 years. 96 years! That's 3,027,456,000 seconds.

God is so amazing, the same creator of the universe created me?! This is crazy. Why am I just now realizing how amazing this is?

Here's just something else:
Did you know that a million seconds ago was 12 days ago? Did you know that a billion seconds ago it was October 1975? Did you know that a trillion seconds ago was 31,688 years ago?

I'm amazed. I hope you learned something!
