So I haven't written an entry in a very, very long time. I have been so busy I'm suprised I've had time to breathe... if that makes sense.
Today, I have no plans... and it's so nice. This year has just been going so fast, and there's so much I had to do, and still so much I have to do to prepare for this fall!
I'm having trouble with my career plans. First of all I hate having to plan... I think it will come to me when I least expect it. Second of all... I have to pick something that I will still be interested in 10, 20, 30 years down the road. It's tough, but I think that God will make it known to me in His time.
On that note, I think I've been drifting further and further from Christ. I feel like I have just been so wrapped up in my own life and doing things the way I want them done, that I haven't had time to just stop... and let Him take the reigns.
I need some me and Him time, with no distractions.
I hope all of you are doing well! Spring is coming! :)
Autumn, you wrote, "I have to pick something that I will still be interested in 10, 20, 30 years down the road."
I will say that this comment is true and false - it is true in the sense that most people who choose careers like medicine, teaching, accounting, engineering, law end up doing those the rest of their lives. But it is also false because there are so many ways to use those fields (and others). First, no post high school education is wasted even if you never ever directly use what you study in the future (or at least immediate future). Once you have a bachelor's degree no one can take it from you - and a bachelor's degree is what a high school degree was 20 years ago. Second, you never know when the degree will come in handy.
I want to share a story to back up my last point.
About 25 years ago a friend went through a nasty divorce. She had three small girls. She went to college and got a Teaching degree. She moved to Arizona. There were no teaching jobs open! She landed a job with the city of Phoenix. She worked in the water department for about 15 years. She crawled through sewer pipes, etc. She actually loved the job. Then one day they posted a training job in the department. She applied and found out that she was the only one qualified for the job because she had a college degree - no one else in the department except those in management had a college degree had one. She got the job - went from working all kinds of crazy hours to working Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, Immediately she doubled her salary!
Also the first two years of college are general ed courses which you need as a basis for the last two years.

Good to see you back again Miss Zimmie.
You know I may not be the one to say it, but I would think that God would know that you still have to take care of your life, make sure you have what you need to continue living and worshipping him, and would not hold your busy life against you.
Also, I would just be proud that you are going to college and making that effort. I didn't.
I hope you all good things in life Miss Zimmie. I really do.
